I Miss Your Bones

ROARRRRR, Cat Yawn!
Recently, I have been yawning a lot. It reminds me of cats yawning in the streets while snuggling up on their fat bellies. Anyways, with minimal makeup on another sloppy day of mine, I decided to go black and get comfy with an oversized old Cheap Monday top, way before they decided to change their logo and eliminated the inverted cross sign smacked right on the skull's forehead. Cheap Monday has always been my favourite brand since I was a teen, so out of curiosity, I went to google about the reasons for the changed of logo. It was designed by Bjorn Atldax as an "active statement against Christianity" nothing associated with Satanism or Occult but his personal dislikes toward the religion. To know more info, you can read it up Here. Anyways, this top was a birthday gift from my late Grandma, it's hip as hell coming from a Granny! I guess nobody knows me better than her that I love skulls, and maybe she really do love me and chose to past away two days before my birthday. All in all, I'm glad that she was finally freed from the pain she suffered having diagnosed with liver cancer for six months.

To hyped things up a little, here's a song by Hospitality, I Miss Your Bones. I really love this band as they never failed to cheer up my day!

Last Saturday morning, I woke up to receive two parcels from Style Raiders (Singapore) and Sammy Icon (Ukraine)! I couldn't be more excited to partner up with them! Upon looking at the socks received from Sammy Icon, I immediately knew that I could match the black anchor Versoix Violet Socks with that Badass Style Raiders' Restrained Cult Skirt that come with garters! They looked DOPE together right?

This look is all about the affection of the dark side and alluring beauty. I matched the Restrained Cult Skirt with a bralette and a long black sheer kimono to create that mysterious haunting ambience. To be honest, I'm really lucky that my friend, Amirul, who's a talented photographer, found this old rooftop carpark and brought my ideas to life! Well since the place was kind of rundown with lots of "junks" as props to go along with my outfit and incorporated them into my photos.

Good News to all my readers and followers! You will be entitled to $2 off total bill (no minimum purchases) when you shop in Style Raiders with the promo code, "jessxsr"! Happy Shopping!

Talking about this dark alluring beauty, I just can't help but relate that to Alice from Crystal Castles! Here's a song titled 'Affection' by them!

P.S. I will be posting more socks from Sammy Icon from my upcoming post! Stay Excited!

#SGNIGHTFEST - Singapore Night Festival, Art Appreciation

Sweater with mini Studs ∆ Zara (Find Similar as mine's considered vintage)
Nude Cross Hosiery ∆ Aliexpress
Shoes ∆ Jeffrey Campbell (Find More)
Socks ∆ Topshop (Find More)

Since young, I've always had that tendency to be more avant-garde and literally more creepy in a way. That's not something to be fearful of! I'm just embracing the dark looks. Contrary to belief that it might be related to satanic occult, I'm a total free spirit that simply loves dark fashion. Guess you might be tired of me saying this, but again, since the weather is getting cooler, I'm able to put on my sweater that I had bought four years ago! I'm very proud to say that I'm still able to fit into them and this sweater with mini studs will never go out of trend. Well, how can studs go out of trend? They are the most badass fashion accessories in history that had ever been invented! To match it with my cool sweater, I wore a pantyhose with two big crosses smacked right on the knee and my usual studded boots with a pair of halloween "bloody" socks.

As a graphic designer myself, I have always been into arts other than fashion. To me, fashion, fine arts, design and music come under a big family of ARTS. They serve the same purpose in their own individual ways. It's all about expressing your creativity and emotion that make every art piece unique. I'm glad that Singapore Night Festival is held annually to showcase local and intentional talents in all forms.

Here's the recap of the amazing Night Festival!

It's a festival that is held once a year and I'm glad to be able to explore different museums. Appreciating different kind of arts and witnessing captivating music performances. If you had missed it last week, do head down to the final week of the Festival on 29 and 30 August from 7pm till 2am! I'm sure you will have fun museum-hopping and do not forget to hashtag #madeforsam when instagram-ing your photos to get print outs of your experiences from the museums!

Do check out more of the festival's schedules here, http://www.brasbasahbugis.sg/SNFPortal/.
