Hey guys, I know it's been about 3 months since I last blogged. I know I've said it time and time again so let me just say for the final time that I've been really busy. I've been swamped with being the full time brand manager for the brand Tocco Tenero (which recently had a launch party to celebrate the collaboration between us and TOFU-Oyako, with their characters on our bags), freelancing as a photographer (whenever I'm free), assisting in the styling for a music video by Yakamoto Kotzuga, as well as taking up piano and DJ classes.  Nonetheless, I'm very glad to be able to work with Zaful.com and other brands who are very supportive of my work and I.

It's summer 365 days in Singapore but that does not stop me from dressing up. The temperature recently shot up to a crazy 35 degrees but the heat feels as if it's at 40 degrees. Madness, right? To kind of chill out a little, why not add some hippie vibes onto my outfit with a pair of bell bottom jeans that are thin and comfy; just right for this weather, and an oversized sheer vintage top that I have owned since I was 18. Since the weather is excruciatingly hot and bright, I've got new pink marble shades to protect myself from those piercing UV rays.

Let's enjoy the summer vibes a little while longer (which I'm pretty sick of to be honest) with a cheerful summer beat song, Run by Tourist.

Wolves

Today I decided to be a hardworking grunge girl. Stripped away from my usual long tees look, I wore a dress with fringes spread out at the ends, layered it with a denim shirt and top it off with a hat. Being hardworking, that means I can't go without heels right? Heels to me is not your usual stilettos, it's monster chunky platforms! Since my dress is long, it looked great with my platform heels.

This guy below is my bestie of bloody six years. If you follow my Snapchat at Jessthegrrl, you will notice that we hangout almost every week. Homies, bromance or whatever, he's a talented photographer and a nonsensical chap.  Do check out his instagram here.

Btw it's National Day today! Celebrating Singapore's independence for 50 years! I shall fly a giant squid kite later. See more on my snapchat!

Let's backtrack the music a little and go back to the 2010. Sounding like The Foals, in a more electric indie form, we have I Heart Sharks. Wolves is one of my favourite songs. Hope you like it too!

Yesterday

Black Pulse Ring ∆ THE YUB (Mobile site | Apps Store | Google Play Store

Thanks to THE YUB, I've gotten this cute oversized baseball dress and the black ring along with more apparel (that will be up soon on the next post!). If you haven't heard about THE YUB, they provide really affordable streetwear apparel that can be easily accessed either via desktop site or mobile site and you can even download their app (Apps Store | Google Play Store) to enjoy the convenient shopping experience!

I think I'm an alien, so I decided to be myself and have this quirky hairstyle along with the baseball dress and an oversized bomber jacket. Well since the weather is so damn hot, I can't help but to cheat my outfit a little to feel comfortable by putting on a pair of socks and match it with my favourite sandals.

So it's summer (even though in Singapore it's 365 days of summer, we still experience a slightly cooler days during the "winter") and I'm tired with my overgrown roots and brassy gold hair. I decided to get rid of my blonde by adding in a tinge of purple or to be exact, lilac. Yes, I know the trend is in for that granny hair colour. Well I would definitely want to have that, but sadly, I could not find the right toner that I can get off the shelf. Even if I were to do it in the salon, it will definitely going to cost me a bomb and it will fade off to this brassy blonde again. Lilac is much more easier to maintain as I can pretty much buy the lilac dye off the racks with brands like Manic Panic or Directions.

Before adding on all these crazy pastel tones, there is always a need to protect you hair and getting the right tone of blonde. Recently, I got in touch with Madison Reed and got to learn that they provide permanent yet very affordable hair dye that's of salon quality. It will not sacrifice your hair quality to achieve those vibrant tones that you need. If you want to have healthy hair, especially when you are one of those people, like me, who their hair dyed frequently, you've got to check out their hair dye selections! Below is a chart for you to get the right tones and swing your hair under the summer rays!

Niall Galvin aka Only Real is now my current greatest love! I'm seriously like a fan girl of his songs. It's so dope with all those laidback hiphop muse. Here's one of his hits, Yesterdays.

Welcome Home, Son

Double stacked Creepers ∆ TUK
Leather Bucket hat ∆ Sup

A day out with my dear girl Soap and assisted her for a simple street fashion interview at Substation. If you had followed my blog till now, you should have figured out that I can be versatile yet still maintaining the 90s street look. Be it goth, pastel, indie, cyber or even psychedelic, I think I can pull it off well.

Since my recent outfits are to contrast white with black, I decided to wear a white dress by Princessa and with a black leather bucket hat and my usual creepers and high socks. Hope you like my outfit!

Here's one of my all time favourite song by Radical Face, Welcome Home, Son. It's one of the songs that moves me. When I'm out and about, there will be part of me missing home. A space for me to repose and recover to fight for tomorrow.

Back to Laneway//2015

Unicorn Pink Crop Top ∆ H&M
Denim Short ∆ Topshop
Checks Shirt ∆ Grandchild
Shades ∆ Hazel & Co.

Jadon Shoes ∆ Dr Martens
Bag ∆ Vintage

As an indie music lover, how can I miss Laneway?

Dressed in a casual festive outfit with a crop top, a pair of denim shorts and a pair of boots, I'm all geared up to get into the hippie grooves and sway to the muse by all these amazing artists!

This year, we have some big acts like Chet Faker, Banks, Angus and Julia Stone, FKA Twigs, Royal Blood, my all time favourite, Courtney Barnett, Mac Demarco and Future Islands as well as local acts like .GIF and many more! Even though majority of this year's music were more mellow sounding, they were still awesome!

Here's a recap of 2015's Laneway! Enjoy!

It's a pity that Lykke Li couldn't make it for Laneway due to health reasons. I love her and her music lots! And shall pray that she will recover soon and be back for a solo concert! Here's one of my favourite song by Lykke Li, No Rest For The Wicked.
