I just had the time of my life at Goodvibes Music Festival in Genting Malaysia over the last few weekend. My festive fever is still on! Honestly, it's really an awesome getaway for me due to some personal issues that I have been facing for the past few months and still living in it. (Hopefully, I will share my first personal post on my next post. Nothing fashion.)

I'm thrilled upon receiving this boho dress from StyleWe designed by Aporia. AS. Well, it would be great to wear it during the festival, nonetheless, even if the festival is over, I'm stoked to wear this dress to reminisce the festive feels. Boho dress, belt choker, Dr Martens boots and a hat, a complete festive style!

Just a quick introduction of StyleWe, it is an online fashion shopping platform that showcases independent fashion designers that provides authenticity, variety and quality fashion apparels. I have gotten my dress from Aporia. AS that provides casual, sweet and sexy Boho style. As a festive goer and a hippie myself, I dig a lot into boho style. Well just that I will definitely mix anything with grunge too.

I know that MØ is not one of the act in Goodvibes, but I would still like to share my music of the day with her latest song, Final Song. Recently, I have been really down and unstable, hence this song kind of slightly liven up my mood. Hope you enjoy it!

Wolves

Today I decided to be a hardworking grunge girl. Stripped away from my usual long tees look, I wore a dress with fringes spread out at the ends, layered it with a denim shirt and top it off with a hat. Being hardworking, that means I can't go without heels right? Heels to me is not your usual stilettos, it's monster chunky platforms! Since my dress is long, it looked great with my platform heels.

This guy below is my bestie of bloody six years. If you follow my Snapchat at Jessthegrrl, you will notice that we hangout almost every week. Homies, bromance or whatever, he's a talented photographer and a nonsensical chap.  Do check out his instagram here.

Btw it's National Day today! Celebrating Singapore's independence for 50 years! I shall fly a giant squid kite later. See more on my snapchat!

Let's backtrack the music a little and go back to the 2010. Sounding like The Foals, in a more electric indie form, we have I Heart Sharks. Wolves is one of my favourite songs. Hope you like it too!

Retreat and repose for a tranquil Sunday, I headed off to the beach with my bestie and did a shoot for a campaign with Luxola.com featuring Laneige Travel Kit while swaying along to the gentle sea breeze. Since it's the beach, I decided to dress a little boho of a white dress by Princessa and a motif vest that I had bought in a vintage store in Chatuchak, Bangkok. To steer my outfit a little back to the 90s, I added on my favourable necklace and chokers.

Honestly, I had never really rely on any skincare products in my entire life. Foremost reason being that I was young and broke. Secondly, I do not have the discipline to stick to a routine with skincare products even when my mum had bought me a set. Well, that was back then and maybe those products were not good enough. As age is catching up, I thought it will be wise for me to get a rad set of essential skincare products; a range that can be my soulmate. Laneige's skincare products is one of the brands that I had shortlisted and I was lucky enough to get to work with Luxola.com to do a review on Laneige Travel Kit, Perfect Renew Early Anti-aging Trial Pouch set. The travel kit is also just in time to prep myself for my next vacation.

According to my friends as well as other bloggers, Laneige's cosmetic and skincare products have always gotten great ratings and reviews, intriguing my interest to try them out.
Just a quick run through of all the products,
• Multi Cleanser - Papain enzymes-based multi cleanser with 4 functions of removing makeup + removing sunscreen + exfoliating + cleansing
• Perfect Renew Skin Refiner_EX - Gel type skin refiner that makes skin texture smooth with boosting effect.
• Perfect Renew Emulsion_EX - Emulsion that delivers moisture balance with soothing effect
• Perfect Renew Essence_EX - Essence that prevents premature aging with helping face contour framing effect.
• Perfect Renew Cream_EX - Cream that enhances elasticity and moisture barrier with repairing effect.

After the third day of my usage, I could feel that my skin is smoother than before. Visible differences can be noticed since I have not been using any skincare products previously. My skin have become smoother, refreshed, hydrated, moisturised, radiant and firmer; giving a natural glow on my naked face. After trying the kit out, I will definitely continue to use Laneige's Perfect Renew skincare products as my lifelong face therapy. Well even my mom is smitten to the products and bugged me to share it with her.

Good new to all my readers, do checkout at Luxola.com with my promo code, BLX-JESSTHEGIRL and enjoy 15% off on your first order!

Spending my Sunday along the beach, it reminds me of my Bali trip (read more here). Bali is definitely a sentimental travelling destination. It allows me to slow down my pace and recover myself from the hectic schedules that I have in Singapore. Every evening, I luxuriate myself along the beach. Bathing myself with warm colours of the sunset while getting hit by the gentle sea breeze.

I guess it's about time for me to revisit Bali again and this time, I would like to stay in a villa from The Luxe Nomad. They have carefully selected some of the best designed luxury villas in Bali as well as around the Asia Pacific region. Good thing about booking with The Luxe Nomad is that they have weekly exclusive flash sales rates of up to 70% off. Isn't it great to be able to save up yet pampering yourself with luxurious comfort with breathtaking scenery from the villas?

Red Lips - #shapematters

Denim Jacket ∆ Vintage (Find Similar Here)
Top ∆ Grandchild (Local Boutique)
Denim short ∆ Forever 21
Shoes ∆ Sperry (Find More Here)

I love red lips. Occasionally, I would prefer them to be darker while sometimes lighter. Today I have a brighter shade of red lips by blending three different tones of lipsticks together. To go with my makeup, I decided to go for the 60s look, when denim was the heat in trend. I wore a denim jacket with chiffon flare shirt beneath it and denim shorts over a pair of sheer pantyhose and ending them with a pair of boots. I wish I could have worn long jeans or add a scarf, but I swear the weather is really hot in the day.

If you have not known, Smashbox had come up with a #SHAPEMATTERS contest by making your closed up selfies with your gorgeous lips into a fun GIFs for a good course! For every GIFs created, Smashbox will donate their product to Look Good Feel Better, an organization dedicated to making people who are undergoing treatment for cancer look and feel better. Come on girls! Let's take a #selfie with your red lips, hashtag it with #SHAPEMATTERS and share them on your social network! What's more? You might get a chance to win Smashbox makeup products! Visit more here.

Talking about red lips, it reminds me of a song by Sky Ferreira, Red Lips. Enjoy the song!

I was not prepared for a shoot today, but my best friend was pretty excited to help me snap some photos. It was her birthday too! I'm really glad that she loved the present that I gave her. It's #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso, the creator of Nasty Girl online store! Since it was a dinner, I decided to dress a little more simple with lighter makeup than usual. I wore a blue cropped sweatshirt over a vertical flared skirt and a hologram chunky platform that I had gotten over the weekend with my favourite psychedelic kittens printed socks. Not forgetting to mention, my skirt was supposed to be longer, however, my mom decided to help me iron my skirt and somehow burnt it, even before I was able to wear it. Luckily, the burnt area was at the corner of the skirt so I just got to alter that area and make it shorter. Sobs.

Lately, I have been rushing my portfolio, attending workshops and also assisting my friend for shoots as a model. Crossing my fingers, I hope to be able to finish editing and uploading all my works up by next week! Of cos I had already uploaded some of them! If you are interested to see how it has been going, here's the link. Hope you guys enjoy my works! If you are wondering what platform I'm using to upload my works, it is https://www.allyou.net/, I got to give credits to their free platform that contains variety of templates to choose from. If you would like to have more advance functions, you can always upgrade to premium!

Last but not least, The Kooks have just dropped their new album, Listen, on 8 September! I can still remember watching them live in Singapore 2 years ago! I just could not stop listening to them on Spotify now and here's one of my favourite song from their new album, Forgive & Forget. Enjoy!

Forever And Then Came The Sun

Dress ∆ Topshop (Find Similar Here)
White Cardigan ∆ Vintage (Find Similar Here)

Sock ∆ Topshop

Today is one of those days that I just could not decide on what to wear. I guess you get what I meant by trying out almost everything in your wardrobe and yet still not satisfied. I wasn't settled with anything till I found this dress (or maybe a long top for tall ladies) at the bottom of my piles of stacked up apparels. Funny thing is, I had almost totally forgotten that this dress existed. I hurried up to get dressed with the lace cardigan that I already had in mind and matched them with a hat and a pair of boots. Ended up looking kind of Boho, but I love it and ready to rock the night with local bands from Anaki Records (do check their cool studio out).

Here I am at the Waterfront open theatre outside Esplanade, featuring local pop-punk band Before the Tempest. If you love bands like Blink 182, We Are The In Crowd, Set Your Goals or any pop-punk bands you can think of from the 00s, do check them out! They have never failed to hype up the crowd as they were always filled with fun and fuelled with energy.

here's one of my favourite tracks, but do check out more of their songs on soundcloud!

After Before The Tempest, we were entertained by The White Trip Movement featuring vocals from Celine of Arson. If you love music that are more avant-garde with inspiration from the shoegaze genre like Slowdive, Sigur Ros or The XX, I'm sure you will love them. They embrace dark, cathartic, moody guitar riffs combined with hushed vocals to create a stark melancholic sound.

Here's one of my favourite from them, do check them out at their youtube channel too!

After the concert ended, I chilled with the Anaki Records crew (as well as my boyfriend) at the nearby Sauce Bar. It was an incredible night filled with great music from the local scene and fantastic view of the Singapore river.
