Float
Acid washed shirt ∆ Vintage
Peace pantyhose ∆ Topshop (Shop others)
Shoes ∆ Jeffrey Campbell
Due to the monsoon season, cold air is making it's way to Singapore. Finally, it's the time of the year for some additional layerings!
With my usual 90s grunge look, black is a never say no colour palette in my outfit. I wore a black skull prints pullover that I had gotten from a local fashion design store, SECTS Shop, by NCE (Not Cool Enough) at a ripped off price of only SGD$10. In fact, it was actually a rejected apparel due to factory defects. Lucky me, I was able to pick out a decent one from all the rejected pile! Playing with layers, I tied an acid washed oversized shirt around my waist; tucked behind the pullover to make it look like a skirt. An excuse to keep my legs warm, I wore a pair of peace sign pantyhose together with my studded chunky boots.
I know my pace has slowed down in my blog updates recently, but that does not mean that I have lost interest here! Honestly, if I have the time, I would love to update more of my outfits and styling. It's just that recently I have been busy with many things! More like countless of things to the extent that I feel that I'm just floating around with things (how I wish to be floating around with nothing on my mind). Work alone takes up more than half of my day. Adding to the pressure, I had some personal freelance projects here and there in assisting my friend. With the upcoming festive periods, gifts shopping is enough to kill me not even mentioning on gatherings (even though I really look forward to meet all my other busy friends!). Oh! And not forgetting to mention that I have some collaborations going on and as well as photoshoots. Well, that pretty much sums up my December life. It's always a love hate relationship with December.
Since I'm floating, here's a song by Pacific Air, Floating.

Turn It Around

Top ∆ Topshop
Blazer ∆ Bershka (Find Similar Here)
Checkered Jeggings ∆ Topshop
Heel-Boots ∆ Sperry (Find Similar Here)
With a bing and a bang, I'm having a causal jamming with the drums or the microphone in a studio in chinatown. I wore a crop top with a checkered legging that I had just bought yesterday and I just can't wait to wear it! Keeping things cool with my blazer and beanie and matched my outfit with a simple heel-boots to pump up my petite height (a tiny bit).
Singapore is a modern country with many tall architectural infrastructures. Nevertheless, due to the mixed heritages and cultures, there are still many shophouses preserved such as in Chinatown. I'm in love with the more laid back look and feel of a stretch of back alleys that connect many shophouses together.
Anyway, I decided to choose this look to join the Ariat style contest for the New York Fashion Week. I have never, in my whole entire life, step a foot into America before and not even mentioning about New York. When I recevied the style contest via email, I was like yes I need this and it will be a huge opportunity for my one month old blog that I quitted my day job to do it for my dream passion by being an inspiration to young girls in Singapore to be daring and creative in dressing up. I hope that if I win Ariat style contest and get to go New York Fashion Week, I can show to people out there that we can change our life and make dreams come true. Take lead in things that we want to achieve and change the norm. It will not only be an eye opener to be able to attend New York Fashion Week, but it will also be an eye opener to Singapore that bloggers can make it international and not just circulating within the little red dot. #ariatNYFWBoot

Just like the video of this song by Lucius, Turn it Around, it combines modern with retro, just like Singapore. Do check out the video!
